Barnyard Addition Game

Today I am posting my Barnyard Addition game.  This game is the same as my Bunny Hop Addition game I posted earlier this month.  This is a game that is great for math stations.  I will continue to make this game with different themes.  Just make new copies and it is a new game but you only have to teach how to play it once.  :)  Check it out at my TPT store

Some of you may have noticed that my posts have come to a stop.  My dear mother-in-law was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage 4 mantle cell lymphoma in mid-April.  Life right now has stopped and I will be at her side through this fight.  Once we setting into a routine I will begin to post again.

I would so appreciate prayers for strength, healing, and the grace and courage to face each day.  Our God is able and faithful!

“He does not fear bad news nor live in dread of what might happen.  For he has settled in his mind that Jehovah will take care of him.”  Psalm 112:7

Chrysanthemum Literacy Pack

Another one of my favorite Kevin Henkes books is Chrysanthemum.  It is such a great book to use at the beginning and end of the year.  It is a book you can read to a class multiple times.

This literacy packet includes a class graph, letter counting, writing, and comprehension activities.  I have a included an explanation page for all of the packet activities.  This would be easy to use for a substitute.  Just fill it into your plans.  Be sure to stop by my TPT store to check out this literacy packet.

For my blog followers I am also including a Chrysanthemum FREEBIE document!  In this document you will get the following:

·         Venn diagram page

·         Beginning, middle, and end comprehension page

·         Art- Chrysanthemum character

You can download this FREEBIE today!  I hope you enjoy my Chrysanthemum activities.  Be looking for more Kevin Henkes book packets to come.

Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse Literacy Packet

I have so many favorite book characters but at the top of my list is Lilly from Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse by Kevin Henkes.  I love Lilly!  This is also one of my favorite books.  There are SO many different activities to do with this one book.  It was always one of my favorite days when I got to read it to my class.

I love this book character so much I named my cat after her.  Here is a picture of my Lilly.  They don’t look alike at all but I just had to name my first pet after my favorite childrens book character.

Since I am “kindergarten at heart” I of course have a complete Lilly costume.  When I would read this story I would dress up like Lilly.  I have a mouse head piece, red cape, polka dot dress, crown, red cowboy boots, movie star sunglasses, and a purple plastic purse.  Here is a picture of me dressed up as Lilly.

Since I obviously LOVE this book it was very easy for me to create a packet.  This is a literacy packet that can be used with this book.  In the packet I have included writing, word work, and comprehension activities.  Be sure to check it out at my TPT store.

Today I have also included an art FREEBIE.  This is an art project I created to accompany the book.  The students can make Lilly and her purple plastic purse.

I hope you can use these activities with one of my favorite books!  Let me know what you think!
